Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.

The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

As part of the Conduct Management Analytics, Insights, & Reporting (CMAIR), you will be responsible for the development of highly complex activities providing insights, developing analytical strategies, performing analytical support and/or modeling for Conduct Management. You will be responsible to design and lead some of the most complex projects/analyses, generally spanning multiple products/business lines/functional areas/data sources and may involve extremely complex analytical application of industry-leading experimental techniques or exploratory data analytics. You will also be responsible for communicating these insights to other leaders outside of Conduct Management that are not as familiar with the subject matter by being able to deliver analytic results visually and with a cohesive narrative.

Conduct Management is a centralized team within Corporate Risk. Conduct Management has enterprise-wide responsibilities to address allegations related to team member misconduct. This includes reporting on the entire allegation life cycle including case intake, triage, research and disposition of a wide variety of allegations including behavioral misconduct, theft, sales practices, fraud, and money laundering.

Specifically, this individual will:

  • Identify actionable insights and patterns from large datasets (structured or unstructured - such as free text) from multiple sources, while working in partnership with other senior members of the team and mentoring/leading staff
  • Be able to self-initiate and formulate novel approaches to address complex and exploratory type of requests with thin contextual background along with engaging and coordinating multiple functional areas of CMAIR to produce the solution
  • Create visual presentations and narratives that effectively communicate a summarization of the complex findings and outcome of CMAIR analysis and highlight the salient points for a non-technical and senior audience
  • Make strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership based on thought-provoking and sound analytics - both proactively and in response to requests
  • Develop data driven analytics capabilities to identify anomalies, outliers, emerging trends and conduct risks across the Enterprise. Primary areas of focus include Internal Fraud, Sales Practice, Ethics, and allegations
  • Partner with other Conduct Management and LOB stakeholders to develop, and enhance analytical capabilities related to Conduct Management at the first line
  • Coordinate completion of multiple tasks that have rapid turnaround times to meet aggressive time frames


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, modeling or a combination of both; or a PhD in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 7+ years of experience in analytics, modeling, or a combination of both

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Keen ability to draw conclusions from analysis and provide actionable insights in an approachable narrative to various audiences and partners - potentially leveraging Tableau and other visualization and BI tools
  • Expert ability to create compelling presentations in PowerPoint for executive level audiences
  • Experience in fraud, BSA/AML, investigations of financial crimes transactions or policy violations, risk management or compliance
  • Analytical and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, execute and deliver projects on time
  • Strong desire and ability to creatively solve problems and ability to self-prioritize multiple tasks
  • Diversity champion enabling team collaboration. Leads and influences diverse views to foster problem solving, and delivery of extraordinary work that promotes team success
  • Proven experience in building partnerships, collaborating and influencing at senior levels and across lines of business as well as with corporate partners

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
