The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Marketing and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. Within Marketing, this role is part of the Marketing Strategic Capabilities & Insights (MSCI) organization. MSCI’s role is to lead the creation of world-class marketing technologies, social capabilities & platforms, digital customer experiences and insights and analytics to enable industry leading revenue growth, scale, and efficiency for Wells Fargo.

This position reports to Marketing Measurement, which is a critical group within MSCI. The team brings accountability to the Marketing organization by empirically estimating the incremental contributions of Marketing to the business and the performance of each campaign and marketing initiatives.  Its charter also includes providing guidance to the organization as to the optimal levels of program investments and allocations across businesses, marketing channels, sales channels, audiences and time to achieve forecast sales goals. To that end, the team is charged with developing and maintaining all the Marketing Mix Modeling, Multi-touch Attribution, Test and Control Models, Audience, Targeting Models, Opportunity Sizing, Sales Planning and Forecasting as well as Numerical Optimization Tools that provide the backbone of past Marketing performance measurements and future investment optimizations. All while reducing risk and driving operational efficiencies.

This position will be based in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC; Winston Salem, NC; Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; St. Louis, MO; Irving, TX; San Antonio, TX; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Portland, OR. Other locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Reporting to the Credit card measurement manager, this analyst will be responsible for the measurement of prospecting (campaigns targeting non-Wells Fargo customers for Wells Fargo credit cards) campaigns including: 

  • Apply sanctioned standard Marketing Measurement campaign measurement practices
  • Exhibit cross-channel thought leadership, particularly in the Digital Marketing space
  • Guide the OC Marketing team on the levels and strategy for program investment
  • Engage with OC Marketing and Product leaders to understand and conceptualize their needs, providing close-looped solutions
  • Independently managing projects without frequent oversight
  • Documenting requirements and scope for each business analytics project and building a project plan to deliver them
  • Opportunity assessments for campaign ideation
  • Experimental design and measurement of credit card campaigns
  • Post-campaign diagnostics to understand over/under performance and opportunities to increase lift and profitability in the future
  • Deep statistical analysis using SAS and SQL to efficiently evaluate all possible drivers of performance
  • Communicating key insights/recommendations to business leaders in a digestible manner with superior data visualization to tell the story behind the campaigns being evaluated


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 8+ years of marketing analytics experience
  • 3+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques
  • Experience consulting with internal clients and business
  • Ability to manage complex data and reporting projects requiring coordination of resources at different levels both internally and externally
  • Teradata experience
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Experience analyzing metrics and articulating data trends
  • Ability to build and deliver innovative, industry leading solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of marketing in the financial services industry
