Kelly Scientific Resources has a permanent position for a Microbiology Analyst in Needham Heights, MA.

  The Microbiology Analyst will be responsible for performing laboratory analysis of client samples and general laboratory support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • As per USP, in-house methods; evaluates and records data
  • Follows current GMP requirements and complies with company safety policies
  • Documents work in a clear and organized manner
  • Perform a variety of microbiological testing as assigned (i.

    e.

    membrane filtration, dilutions, basic staining, growth promotion testing, plate enumeration, morphological assessment)

  • Perform Microbial identification of bacteria and yeast on the Vitek compact 2 and Macroscopic for mold identification
  • Perform Biological indicator analysis supporting VHP decontamination testing
  • Maintain laboratory stock cultures for evaluation testing and dilutions
  • Maintain inventory stock of purchased medias, materials required for testing and routine laboratory maintenance
  • Perform checks of laboratory equipment (i.

    e.

    Temperatures, PM and required calibrations)

  • Peer review of data
  • Perform laboratory investigation reports
  • Assist in revising and creating laboratory SOPs
  • Responsible for adhering to cGMP rules and regulations and company safety policies
  • Communicate and interact appropriately and effectively with clients
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Overtime and weekend hours may be required
  • Performing population verification for biological indicators (Plus)
  • Collects Environmental Monitoring Samples onsite and offsite at client manufacturing and sterile compounding sites (Plus)
  • Collects compressed air/gas samples offsite at client manufacturing sites (Plus)

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or related science discipline.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
