Overview

The Sr. Credit/Collection Specialist responsibility is to effectively manage a multi-million dollar account portfolio within an assigned territory. Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing customer's credit accounts as well as initiating customer contact to investigate delinquencies while building and maintaining strong relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Onboarding new accounts
  • Gather and review customer credit information in conjunction with analyzing customers financial statements.
  • Assign credit limits and recommendations to credit manager
  • Continuosly reviewing assigned customers aging
  • Make collection calls, negotiating and securing payments on past dues
  • Indentifying and closely monitoring high risk customers.
  • File UCC-1/Mechanic Liens and Bankrupcty claims.
  • Monitor changes in customer and portfolio risk.
  • Oversee critical and high volume accounts
  • Submit monthly territory portfolio summary
  • Daily order release based on corporate credit policy, customer credit status and credit limit
  • Perform root cause analysis on repetitive disputes/deductions. Support Accounts Receiveable and Credit in best practices, investigations, damage claims, pricing errors, billing charges, check reconciliation and research.
  • Create and maintain credit/collections records and files in ERP system. Verify and process customer database changes.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting or Business or a minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of creditor rights and bankruptcy law.
  • Proficient and clear understanding of credit and collection principles.
  • Experience in a multinational environment
  • Negotiating and reviewing Letters of Credit
  • Experience with Oracle a plus
  • Experience working strategically with cross-functional teams to achieve department goals and company initiatives
  • Proficient with MS Office, Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills
