Location/Division Specific Information
You will be part of the fast-paced and multi-disciplinary Research Services group located in Santa Clara. We process a large number of customer samples on a wide range of genomic technologies including whole genome and/or targeting genotyping, copy number variation and gene expression assays and are committed to provide the highest data quality and the best customer experience.
How will you make an impact?
By bringing your programming and communication skills, you will help improve the current data analysis processes, support and maintain current software applications and provide daily support to the team of analysts and laboratory operators.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, support and automatize data analysis pipelines to handle data generated by the Lab
- Support, extend and customize as needed our in-house LIMS and related applications
- Troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively to ensure production is not impacted
- Understand and gather requirements from end users
- Engage and educate end users on tools and pipelines best practices
- Communicate effectively with all the stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum B.S. in Computer Science or Bioinformatics or similar with 2+ years’ experience
- 2+ years of experience developing pipelines with Java, Python, C/C++, or other object-oriented programming languages
- Proficiency with GIT/SVN
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix environment including shell scripting
- Excellent cross-discipline communication and writing skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to new tools and platforms and to troubleshoot issues on these systems
- Experience with R
- Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, etc.))
- Experience with Data Visualization
- Experience developing LIMS is a plus
- Knowledge of genomics technology is a plus
