We are seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor for our Hawaii District office located in Honolulu, Hawaii

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews prime contract and subcontract details of specifications and requirements.

  • Ensures quality activities aligned with project scope per the contract terms and conditions.
  • Reviews the project specifications and identifies quality requirements.
  • Performs visual examination, witness, monitor, and document per project quality and Inspection testing plans (ITPs).
  • Collects and compiles quality turnover documentation.
  • Acts as a liaison with craft/staff personnel and quality manager to provide technical assistance and guidance as needed.
  • Identifies and discerns root causes associated with nonconformance's and reports to project team and quality manager.
  • Implements the project quality plan, inspection testing plans (ITPs) and projects specifications and reports compliance to project team.
  • Develops and implements project quality plan and ITPs.
  • Actively participates in Quality Assurance/Quality Coordinator (QA/QC) task planning.
  • Plans and coordinates daily Quality Assurance/Quality Coordinator (QA/QC) activities with construction activities.
  • Leads meetings with the quality team as required.
  • Liaises with clients' field QA/QC representatives, third-party testing agencies, and trade contractor quality personnel.
  • Ensures supplier and vendors adhere to project specifications including verification of delivered materials.
  • Performs audits to ensure adherence to project quality plan/manual and contract document requirements. Reports nonconformance items and manages remediation.
  • Plans the mock-up program for the project.
  • Work with field management to ensure the protection of finished work.
  • Assist with pre-work trade meetings to align understanding of project specifications.
  • Review and approve trade quality plans prior to work commencing.
  • Work with field management to ensure first installation reviews are completed, documented and communicated.
  • Maintains the QA/QC documents and files.
  • Ensures that rework costs are tracked.
  • Supervises, directs, coaches, trains, and mentors quality management employees daily as required.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Tradesperson or postsecondary education in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.

  • 5 years of experience in quality control and/or the construction industry, including supervisory and leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry; understands specifications, drawings, methods, and procedures.
  • Excellent construction inspection skills on a broad range of scopes of work.
  • Good understanding and ability to interpret construction industry codes.
  • Familiar with basic planning and sequencing concepts.
  • Ability to monitor project progress to ensure timely inspections.
  • Ability to identify quality risks associated with the project.
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications, visualizing two dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
  • Experience with internal project quality assessments.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and delegate.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Conflict resolution and difficult conversation skills with the ability to manage and effectively resolve conflict with trade contractors/supervisors.
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor.
  • Strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
  • Advanced skills with quality computer applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions:

  • This job will be primarily performed at an active construction site.

  • Work may be required before or after standard business hours.
