Summary:

The selected candidate will work with a dynamic team to help solve issues associated with food production. This is an opportunity to work with a group of passionate and inquisitive people from a variety of disciplines daily. The environment is fast-paced and very engaging where solutions imagined in the morning can be tested in the afternoon.

Specific Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Lead the continued development of integrated pest management program strategy
  • Monitor pest ecosystems to evaluate the presence of pest species, natural pest predators, and conditions that may contribute to pest problems
  • Conduct applied field research designed to manage insect pests using practices that protect the ecosystem through in integrated approach while increasing reliability
  • Provide expertise and training of employees about pest biology, the IPM approach, and new pest management strategies
  • Collaborate with key industry, academics, specialist and/or others to improve IPM programs
  • Engage with local regulatory inspectors to ensure program compliance
  • Works across functions on site that include field and greenhouse settings
  • Work with farm teams to define a crop rotation, cover crop use, and beneficial insect harbor refugia.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Agriculture/Entomology
  • PCA License preferred
  • 2-3 years of industry experience
  • Communication, computer, team player, cirtical thinking skills
  • Bilingual a plus
