Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designate, the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. PCA assists multi-disciplinary health care team by assisting patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Requires good verbal and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills necessary to deal with patients and staff. Work presents potential exposure to communicable disease and hazardous materials. Work requires moderate to heavy lifting of patients and equipment. Work requires a majority of time spent with either walking or standing.

Preferred C. N. A. certification and BLS.
