Internal Auditor

BASIC PURPOSE:
 Directly reports to the Assistant Financial Controller. The position of Internal Auditor is established to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed consistently throughout the organization in order to safeguard its assets, verify the accuracy and reliability of its accounting data, and promote adherence to the prescribed policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Reviews cash control procedures and monitors safeguarding of assets. 
• Monitors daily activity in retail stores and tracks relevant maintenance done at all locations. 
• Reviews accounts for unauthorized activity. 
• Performs heavy Data Entry in Price book accounting software. 
• Determines if the organizations policies are being followed. 
• Discuss findings with supervisors/managers of areas evaluated. 
• Verifies that promotional information is input correctly in price book database and notifies retail locations. 
• Establish and maintain confidential employer/business files. 
• Assists in the verification of item costs and pricing to ensure compliance with contract agreements and procedures established by the Marketing Manager. 
• Uphold professionalism by providing courteous customer service to visitors, clients, and vendors. 
• Performs all other duties as assigned. 
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree in business related area preferred. 
•  Thorough knowledge of account practices/procedures. 
•  Knowledge of Retail Industry. 
•  Proven investigative skills. 
•  Strong interpersonal skills. 
•  Very good oral and written communication skills. 
•   Personal computer experience required. 
•  Designation as a CPA or CIA desirable.
