Manager/Sr. Manager, Software Engineer (Java) - Treasury

As a Capital One Manager, Software Engineer, you'll work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful services, to back-end Java based systems using the hottest techniques in Big Data. You'll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as: node.js, Java, AngularJS, React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, HTML / HTML5, CSS, NoSQL databases, relational databases, Hadoop, Chef, Maven, iOS, Android, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure to name a few

Responsibilities:

• Lead software engineering teams in an Agile environment leveraging advanced engineering practices to deliver scale solutions for the Treasury Business
• Manage a portfolio of diverse technology projects that provide the backbone of Treasury services for customers
• Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead the best application engineering talent
• Develop business applications that maintain the highest availability, performance, and strive for simplicity
• Knowledge, passion for and ability to lead software engineers developing in:  Java, Python, Spring User Interface Technologies such as Angular and React, and DevOps Automation, Integration, Build and Deployment Tools
• Leverage strong engineering and technology background to go deep in technology
• Establish technical credibility across their internal teams and the external engineering community
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience
• At least 3 years’ of experience designing and implementing Microservices based architecture
• At least 5 years’ experience leading software engineering teams in an Agile environment
• At least 6 years’ experience with object-oriented programming and design (Java, Python, JavaScript)
• At least 6 years’ of experience in developing web applications, architectural standards and SOA technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• 10 years’ software development experience
• 3+ years’ of experience in Cloud Computing
• 5+ years’ CI/CD experience
