Medical Case Specialist

Our client--a large health care company in Center City--is seeking a Medical Case Specialist to join their team. If you are qualified for and interested in this role, please apply!

Qualifications:

• 1+ year health care experience
• 1+ year medical terminology experience
• Bachelor degree in health-care-related field required

Position Description:

The Case Specialist will be scheduling non-emergent exam appointments for patients. They will receive a case from a physician with a list of examinations that the patient needs to have scheduled. The Case Specialist will use the patient's demographic information to schedule them at the closest and most convenient location possible. Calls will be mainly outbound to clinics to schedule the appointment, and then to the patient to confirm the appointment.

Responsibilities:

• Answer phones from automated call distribution system
• Triage daily download of referrals and ensure appropriate worksheets are assigned to corresponding conditions
• Verify appropriate CPT and CLIN codes are assigned to each case
• Communicate directly with claimants and providers
• Obtain medical history for specific conditions
• Determine appropriate examinations, tests, and specialists required for each case
• Schedule appointments for examinees including follow-up appointments and rescheduled appointments
• Ensure all examinees and providers receive necessary documentation
• Confirm consultative reports and diagnostic test results are received in a timely manner
• Meet or exceed contract timeliness guidelines in both the scheduling and case management systems
