Allied Universal Services is currently searching for a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Security Officer.

Description:

The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Officer is very important to the safety and security of our clients’ facilities. Our professional GSOC officers allow us to accomplish our company’s core purpose, which is “to serve, secure, and care for the people and businesses in our communities.” The GSOC security officer will be a key contributor to the security operations team in the event of a crisis situation that would threaten safe and secure business operations. This could include, but is not limited to: natural disasters, workplace violence, facility emergencies, fire, terrorist or geopolitical events, or issues of serious injury or illness. Global Security Operations Center Officer positions require heavy use of computer operating systems, such as Microsoft, as well as other CCTV and alarm applications.

Essential Functions:

The GSOC Security Officer may be asked to perform many essential functions at the facility where he or she works. Although not an exhaustive list, these include:

  • Ensures high-quality security services to protect people and property
  • Monitors television, social media feeds, and other sources for potential threats to global assets
  • Communicates effectively to Global Security and travelers when urgent security concerns arise
  • Builds, improves, and maintains effective relationships with both client employees and guests; provides outstanding customer service to all
  • Monitors closed circuit television systems and alarms
  • Monitors and operates facility computer systems regularly, as assigned
  • Maintains awareness of and familiarity with the site-specific operations performance manual and post orders
  • Recognizes and reports safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing via Incident Reports or email
  • Handles security issues or emergency situations appropriately; contacts Emergency Services, such as EMT, Fire Dept., etc.
  • Remains flexible to ever-changing environments; adapts well to different situations
  • Fully embraces continuing education of security/safety training programs to enhance professionalism
  • Is dedicated to being part of the team that enhances the mission of keeping global asses secure

Physical and Mental Functions:

  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
  • Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Run as needed
  • Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks
  • Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination
  • Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat
  • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments

Qualifications/Requirements:

Qualified applicants for the GSOC Officer position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 18 years of age, plus 3 years of work-related experience, coursework, or relevant military or Law Enforcement experience
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard; neat and professional appearance
  • Ability to obtain a valid Guard License as required in the state for which you are applying
  • Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills; ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
  • Neat handwriting and ability to frequently prepare written reports
  • Computer skills for relevant applications, data entry ability, and social media/open source research
  • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible to quickly changing environments
  • Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required)
  • Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment)
  • Ability to quickly and effectively determine a course of action in a crisis and communicate that effectively to all stakeholders
  • As a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of all required License at all times, and must carry the license at all times while on duty
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test
