Bakery Custodian - Full-time / Part-time

Shelby Bakery a division of Sonbyrne Sales and Byrne Dairy is seeking a Bakery Custodian.  

Shelby Bakery is a scratch bakery located in Syracuse, NY that produces donuts, muffins, and cookies for Byrne Dairy retail stores.  Shelby Bakery has been producing high quality fresh baked goods for more than 15 years.

PURPOSE OF POSITON
The Bakery Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the bakery by performing various cleaning duties.  A Custodian may be responsible for any or all of the following tasks.  Tasks may also change throughout employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The list below contains tasks that are typically associated with the job.  It is not all-inclusive and may vary.
•	Floors – sweep and mops floors using brooms, and mops.  Other floor work may be required such as scrubbing
•	Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, tables, cooler and freezer
•	Cleans and disinfects bathroom sinks, toilet, mirrors, floors, etc.  replenishes bathroom supplies
•	Receive of bakery supplies from outside vendor
•	Clean windows using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
•	Exterior sweeping of building
•	Changing fryer oil
•	Filtering fryer oil
•	Trash removal and transport to disposal area up to 50lbs
•	Cleaning of floor drains
•	Replenishes supplies on shelves up to 50lbs
•	Cleaning of proofers
•	Cleaning of bakery mixers
•	Cleaning of sediment trap
•	Clean ovens
•	Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS - EXPECTATIONS:

•	Available to work 6am-3pm
•	Must be able to work weekends
•	Ability to lift up to 50lbs throughout shift
•	Ability to stand, crouch and bend frequently
•	Ability to work in various temperatures
•	Reports to work each day and on time, and works extra hours when needed
•	Must comply with proper safety policies and procedures
•	Must be able to determine the neatness, accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

•	Walk and stand on concrete flooring for the duration of shift
•	Bend and Kneel
•	Reach and grasp
•	Push and pull objects
•	Lift and/or move up to 40lbs, sometimes over shoulder
•	Repetitive bending and lifting of items
•	Repetitive arm movements
