Engraving Associate

Ace Hardware of Clarkston is the area's only locally owned and operated Ace Hardware. We are here to serve our neighbors in a friendly and fun work environment. Our store opened in 2016 and continues to grow at a rapid pace due to the overwhelming support of the community.

We were voted by our community as "Best of the Best" for the last two years in the Hardware category, over the other area Hardware Stores. As we are locally owned - we believe in staffing our store heavily and giving our associates latitude to make decisions to best serve the customer. We pride ourselves with having a very relaxed, un-corporate like environment.

We are open 7 days a week, early to late and look for candidates that have flexibility to work retail hours.

We are in need of:

A creative and energetic person to support our engraving department.
   
We have recently added laser engraving as one of our store services and it has become an overnight success.   While most of our team is trained to engrave – we are looking for that one special individual who can take us to the next level.

We currently use a Gravograph Laser engraver and utilize both the Gravotouch and Gravostyle engraving software programs.   We have templates designed for over 300 items today from Frames, to plaques, to cutting boards, to YETI mugs providing a simple to execute process for the associate.   

We will be expanding our capability this summer to engrave well over 1000 items as well as anything custom a customer might bring in with them.   Our key seasons are 4th quarter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduations, Weddings, etc.    The best candidate will have experience in vector graphic arts software and will be eager to grow this department.

Presently this will be a part time position with hours split between engraving and helping in the rest of our department and store during the slower times.    Our plan is for this to grow into a full-time business possibly with the addition of additional equipment and other engraving services.

We will train on the specific Gravograph software that we use, but experience with graphic design experience in Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, or other similar programs will be a huge plus.

As we are a customer focused neighborhood business you will spend time on our sales floor with customers so you MUST enjoy customer interaction and delivering top notch service.

Past Ace Hardware experience is a huge plus - with special salary consideration being given for having past Ace experience.
