Job Description:
The Barback works with the Bartender and is responsible for ensuring that guests are offered an enjoyable visit reflecting the high customer service standards of our establishment. They ensure all details of service are performed properly and every guest receives the highest quality of service. A Barback must maintain a professional appearance and friendly attitude toward guests, other employees and management staff.
Responsibilities:

•	Assist with maintaining a proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking liquor, beer, wine, juices, soft drinks, garnishments, condiments and glassware.

•	Ensure bar and service area is organized, clean and neat.

•	Replenish supplies in the bar area, including garnishes, liquor, beer, glassware, napkins and other related items.

•	Be prepared to describe products served and make recommendations as requested.

•	When necessary, handle cash, charge and credit card transactions accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

•	Recognize and notify management of any problems resulting from guest complaints, intoxication or disruptive behavior.

•	Notify management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance of tables, chairs, carpet and/or equipment and any accidents.

•	Follow all procedures when responding to any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Requirements

Qualifications:
•	Possess current health department certifications required to work in a restaurant.

•	Minimum six (6) months experience working in beverage service, preferably in a hotel/resort environment.

•	Knowledge of types of mixed drinks, wine, beer and other beverage related items.

•	Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

•	Excellent communication skills.

•	Ability to work with management staff and other employees in a professional manner.

•	Must have current California Food Handler Card or willingness and ability to obtain California Food Handling Card before first day of employment.
