66 Hardware Group is a family-owned chain of Ace Hardware stores in Oklahoma and Texas founded in 1991.  Store locations are in Miami, OK, Duncan, OK, Fort Worth (Hulen), TX and Justin, TX.

General Summary
The Merchandising Specialist  produces sales by providing point-of-purchase and shelf management services. You will get the right product, in the right place, time, quantity and price.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Customer Service
•	Provide positive representation of store.
•	Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
•	Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
•	Provide a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
•	Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
•	Handle customer complaints. Work to resolve problems with the customer and have a mutually fair and equitable solution.
•	Possess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.

Store Operations
•	Ensure a positive, professional and safe work environment for all associates.
•	Work with General Manager and Assistant Manager on all aspects of running the store.
•	Participate in weekly staff meetings.
•	Communicate issues with General Manager.
•	Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers' expectations and company's objectives.
•	Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately.
•	Produce layout plans for the store and maintain store shelves and inventory.
•	Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, close outs etc.
•	Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise areas.
•	Ensure that weekly price changes and label updates are completed timely and accurately.
	Perform all other duties as assigned.
•	Assist to ensure that cycle counts and negative on hand reports are completed timely and accurately.
•	Assist in ordering and maintaining desirable product inventory levels to ensure in-stocks and store profitability.
•	Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store.
•	Assist to ensure all signage is current in the store.
•	Assist in presenting a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and promotional and incremental merchandising.

Leadership
•	Manage all aspects of store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
•	Lead by example; be approachable by all associates and customers.
•	Participate in store meetings.
•	Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the General Manager for follow up.
•	Prepare and challenge yourself for future advancement.


Other Essential Requirements

Education

High School or GED equivalent.  


Experience

Proven working experience in merchandising.
Up to date on the latest merchandising trends and best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Strong listening, presentation and decision making skill.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, lifting (up to 60lbs) and climbing.
