We are now accepting applications for Bakery Clerks!

The Bakery Clerk services customers, processes special orders, maintains appearance and cleanliness of bakery case to ensure customer requirements are met, and builds customer loyalty by providing exemplary customer service.

Essential:

  • Provide products and services that meet the requirements of internal and external customers at all times, and abide by the Company’s Statement of Values and The Six Promises.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, floor (to ensure safety), and sanitation regulations are met.
  • Wait on customers at bakery counter by greeting customer, getting the product they want from case or department, packaging and pricing products and thanking customer.
  • Package products for sale by removing products from trays, putting products in bag or box, printing label or price, and placing product on display area.
  • Fill case by taking product off oven trays, placing it on display trays, be sure sign is correct and place in bakery case.
  • Follow proper procedures to ensure store meets out-of-stock percentage goals.

Additional:

  • Slicing bread by placing loaves in slicer, packaging product, labeling package, and place on display.
  • Filling supplies by getting supplies from storage area.
  • Taking customer orders for later purchase in person or over the phone by writing down the order indicating product desired and date to be picked up.
  • Finishing product as necessary (writing on cakes, thumbprints, icing donuts, etc.).
  • Document and/or record daily known loss.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more
  • Ability to reach in and bend into case
  • Ability to bend, twist, grasp, reach, push, pull, and use repetitive motion as required
