Security Lead Officer

- Oversee daily security operations and personnel on an assigned shift/site
- Effectively lead, train, and mentor new and current security personnel
- Conduct shift briefings on operations and events
- Complete administrative duties as required
- Conduct security patrols of client facilities
- Identify and report security breaches, safety concerns, or unusual circumstances.
- Perform access control and check in visitors and/or driver partners
- Operate independently with solid judgment and decision making
- Communicate effectively to leadership during incidents
- Proactively identify and address any security concerns
- Generate written reports on daily duties, incidents, and security recordkeeping.
- Escort and monitor contractors/vendors as needed
- Provide security presence during company events
- Customer Service skills
- Observe and report activities at an assigned site
- Ability to sit, stand and/or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift)
- Ability to work indoor and outdoor in a variable environment
- Climb stairs, ladders or ramps occasionally during shift
- Respond quickly to critical situations
- Provide access control to facility
- Ability to read and write detailed reports
- Enforce procedure, regulation, and standards of client
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Other duties as assigned by Whelan Security and client contract requirements
- Must possess strong customer service skills
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a strong team player with business maturity, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- Must have prior experience with research and analysis
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and demanding work environment
- Comfortable with high-tech work environment, and constant learning of new tools and innovations
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and enterprise access control and alarm monitoring systems
- Self-motivated, curious, knowledgeable about news and current events

Qualifications
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- At least 21 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements

- Pass an extensive background screening which includes, but is not limited to, criminal background checks (local, state, and federal), drug test, aptitude tests, skills assessment, interviews, and personality profile (behavioral assessment)
Education
Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:- Possess at least a high school education or equivalent (GED)
