Red Collar Pet Foods is looking for a Safety, Environmental & Security Regional Manager to join our exciting new pet food business that is headquartered in Franklin, TN. Who is Red Collar? Purpose of Role:

This position is accountable for ensuring regional compliance with national and local SES laws, regulations and Corporate SES Standards. This position is also responsible for setting the tone, focus and strategy of the region, implementing policies and procedures which are consistent with the Companys vision, mission and values, as well as minimizing the Companys general liability and exposure to safety, environmental compliance and security risks. Regional SES Manager works with the facility management and SES teams translating strategies to site execution plans, processes, and activities.

Principal Accountabilities

  • The Regional SES Manager works within the established framework developing, improving and implementing of regional safety, security and environmental processes, standards and guidelines for the business ensuring associate safety, asset conservation and environmental stewardship is achieved.
  • Regional SES Manager provides leadership and guidance to local SES managers and Site Management Teams.
  • The Regional SES Manager is responsible for driving towards a world class Safety, Environment and Security culture by providing leadership and expertise across the 5 sites and corporate.
  • The position holder keeps current on federal, state, and local legislation regarding NFPA/OSHA/EPA compliance requirements and maintains expert knowledge of current and emerging issues and trends in area of regulatory compliance.
  • The position requires a high level of technical expertise and provides subject matter expertise in regional and local projects to ensure that SES risks are mitigated.
  • The incumbent works as part of a team with regional and location specific engineering, quality and production personnel to ensure that all applicable SES laws, regulations and standards are taken into account at the design stage of each project.
  • The Regional SES Manager is equipped with the knowledge and skill necessary to serve as the Companys in house consultant with regards to: regional environmental, safety & health laws and regulations, performing effective safety engineering evaluations on internally and externally designed equipment and processes.
  • Strong management, written, computer and communication skills to effectively interact with both senior and local regional management, outside regulatory agencies and organizations as well as other personnel at all levels within the organization.
  • The incumbent also has the skills and ability to use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve SES and solve problems both routine and complex.
  • The position requires that the incumbent fully understand and either set or participate in the development of clear management direction in terms of: Legislation (OSHA, EPA, EN, HSE, OHS, CPSC, FDA, etc.), Training and Development, Project Management, Legal requirements and Site/business specific procedures


Minimum Qualifications

  • The incumbent should possess an engineering/science undergraduate degree with a concentration in environmental, health and safety or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Additional specialized training/education within Risk Management concepts is also preferred.
  • 7-10 years experience demonstrating an ability to develop and lead successful SES programs.
