The Lieutenant (LT) is the Shift Supervisor located at International Monetary Fund (IMF) and reports directly to the CPT. The Lieutenant will function as the Shift Manager in the absence of the Captain.

Job Description-
  • Review substandard performance with employees and provide coaching and retraining to improve performance. Document counseling, training and coaching.
  • Ensure adherence with safety programs and procedures including vehicle safety and safe driving. Identify and correct site-specific hazards and escalate those that are beyond their ability to correct
  • Enforce Whelan Security standards.
  • Enforce Whelan Security policies as outlined in the Whelan Security Employee
    Handbook, management policy memorandums and the worksite POST ORDERS.
  • Take a proactive approach to meeting and exceeding your clients’ needs.
  • Know yourself and seek self-improvement.
  • Prepare quality incident reports.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all employees receive their allocated breaks unless operational or emergency constraints require a deviation.
  • Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions.
  • Make sound and timely decisions.
  • Set the example and lead by it.
  • Know your people and look out for their welfare,
  • Keep your people well-informed.
  • Develop a sense of responsibility in your employees.

  • Perform daily post inspections.
  • Train your people to work as a team.
  • Maintain a valid driver license.
  • You will be required to complete the Practical Supervision Workshop as well as forty hours of On the Job Training (OJT).
  • Complete HAZMAT training and become an active member of the HAZMAT team unless medically disqualified.
  • Review all security logs and patrol tours.
  • Provide site-specific Initial On-the-Job Training (OJT) and periodic refresher training to each employee.
  • Maintain and enforce uniform and appearance standards.
  • All other duties as directed.
Performance Responsibilities: The Lieutenant Shift Supervisor is expected to achieve the following metrics within Whelan’s performance-based business environment:
  • Capable of assuming the CPTs role.
  • Continually learning the responsibilities of the CPT.
  • Capable to assume and operate any Post.
  • Mentors SGTs.
  • Completes specific tasks as directed by the CPT.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • United States or Naturalized Citizen
  • At least 21 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED; or Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2-5 years Supervisory experience in Security preferred
  • Must be available to work all shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call.
Previous contract services, hospitality, military, law enforcement or supervisory experience is desirable.

Education

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
  • Possess at least a high school education or equivalent (GED)
