BASIC PURPOSE: The Information Security Analyst provides advice and expertise to IT staff and other departments related to information security issues.  The Analyst monitors and responds to security incidents, performs vulnerability assessments, creates process documentation, and otherwise contributes to the development and maintenance of a sound information security program.  The Information Security Analyst reports to the Manager of Information Security.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the creation and upkeep of information security processes and documentation
  • Performs audit functions for PCI compliance and security
  • Assists in the PCI assessment process
  • Develops and maintains policy standards and procedures as requested by management
  • Drafts and maintains policies, standards and procedures across the IT infrastructure landscape
  • Participates in disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Produces as-is and to-be process flows depicting process efficiencies and improvements
  • Recommends, drafts, and updates information security awareness training across multiple delivery methods, including but not limited to CBT, e-mail, SharePoint sites, and live training
  • Participates in the computer incident response team, focusing on lessons learned and post-event improvement
  • Participates as needed in projects, representing the Information Security team
  • Participates in the risk assessment process
  • Works with third-party support and security equipment vendors
  • Other duties assigned as needed

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, emphasis in Cyber Security or Information Security preferred
  • CISSP, CASP, PCIP, CISA or other security/compliance/generalist certification strongly preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in Information Security strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting security hardware and systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
