Job Summary

Focuses on uncovering merchandise opportunities and partners with Store Operations to develop action plans to maximize these opportunities in specific stores, groups of stores or targeted geographic areas through the analysis of sales, inventory and gross profit date. Functions as a support team for Store Operations and will be the liaison between Store Operations and the Planning and Analysis department. Through this process will gain consensus, champion the cause, monitor the progress and report on results.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Develops, executes, monitors and reports progress on action plan that focus on specific store and district reviews:
  • Communicates regularly with home office, Regionals and District Managers to ensure buy-in and partnership in the execution of action plans For specific stores and districts.
  • Reviews sales, inventory and gross profit data to ensure space allocation and ranking by department is appropriate to store performance. Uncovers successes in one store that may be unrealized in another store. Implements action plans to realize opportunities.
  • Partners with the District Manager, AVP of Store Operations and Regional Managers to develop action plans to target merchandise opportunities in district and specific stores. Travels regularly to these markets with the District managers. Interfaces with Planning and Allocation to ensure merchandise support for the action plans. Monitors the execution and reports the progress of the action plan to the appropriate parties
  • Reviews sales and gross profit performance of non-comp and new stores to aid the growth and development of the younger population of stores.
  • Seeks out opportunities to drive business and react to trend.
  • Assist merchants and Planning & Allocation in understanding the needs of these stores.
  • Research competition and intrusion factors related to these stores.
  • Schedules market visits with the merchants and Planning & Allocation to uncover and brainstorm business opportunities and action plans.
  • Serves as a training resource by sharing conclusions of analysis with District Managers to ensure they have the advantage of this information when making business decisions.
  • Ensures the Store Operations group has realistic merchandise expectations. Explains what is and is not actionable giving the stores a clearer understanding of achievable merchandise opportunities.
  • Performs other projects as assigned.
