Service Technician - Direct Hire Opportunity

Installs, repairs and maintains mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of production machines by performing the following duties.

Modifies PLC controlled functions using Allen Bradley platform, Siemens is a plus.
Minimum 2 years direct and hands on working knowledge of RS Logix 500/5000, RS Linx, Factory Talk View programming environments.
Working knowledge of Step 7 programming environment is a plus.
Exposure to servo motion systems is a preferred.
Exposure to pneumatics systems is a must.
Observes and inspects mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or pneumatic system.
Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Locates damaged air pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe.
Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
Repairs broken parts.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repairer and Maintenance Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction.
Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
Sets up and operates metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder, to make or repair parts.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors and programmable controllers.
Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components.
Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Maintains a clean, high quality work environment throughout the factory and client worksites at all times.
Provides feedback to management to ensure all customers have accurate and timely information regarding service failures and customer concerns.
Continuously follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP s).
Prepares proper documentation (daily reports, fill weights, down time and sign off reports, time sheets, expense reports, changeover procedures, red-lines drawings, SOPs, video and photo shoots, samples, etc.) and ensures it is continuously completed, updated and transmitted to appropriate personnel.
Attends briefing/debriefing meetings.
Red-lines drawings of changed parts.
Will occasionally be lifting loads up to 50 lbs.
Must be willing/able to work overtime to complete project and meet scheduling deadlines.
Must be a responsible individual who is a self-starter.
Must be detail oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
Must have own tooling.
Must be able to adjust to change and adjust processes accordingly.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
