JOB SUMMARY

 

The Senior Manager Security Engineering team responsible for the governance and oversight of design, deployment, and configuration of the Marriott International endpoint security solutions. The primary goal of the position is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources while aligning to business goals and objectives. 

 
 
 

Education and Experience

 
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or related field or equivalent experience/certification
  • 7+ years of information technology experience with 4+ years of experience in infrastructure and endpoint security including one or more of the following:
 
    • Demonstrated experience performing cybersecurity analysis from an operators point-of-view
    • Depth of knowledge in one or more of the core security IES domains:  Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Security Architecture, Mobile and Endpoint security, Endpoint Detection and Response, Anti-Malware, Endpoint Hardening.
    • Experience operating, troubleshooting, installing, and configuring endpoint security solutions - Antivirus, Application Whitelisting, Host Intrusion Detection / Prevention and Firewalls
 
Preferred:
  • Possess a deep technical understanding of information security engineering and infrastructure operations, and is well versed in security architecture and controls
  • Must possess a proven ability to research, design, and implement technical solutions in an enterprise IT organization
  • Experience with designing and implementing security for Microsoft O365, VDI, Virtual environments
  • Experience developing security metrics for program evaluation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows administrative tools, and the Unix/Linux command line.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of common information security management frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, CIS and NIST and an understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements for Payment Card Industry/Data Security Standard.
  • Functional understanding of scripting languages (Batch, Powershell, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, etc.)
  • An understanding of contemporary and legacy security IES technologies
  • Current information security certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other.
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and problem solving ability

Endpoint Security Engineering and Governance

  • Responsible for the governance and oversight of design, deployment, and configuration of the Marriott International endpoint security solutions
  • Partners with IT, PMO, and business functions to provide advice on IT risk, regulatory and compliance mandates and their impact to in-flight projects.
  • Participate in and develop comprehensive cybersecurity program assessments that are focused on improving endpoint security posture.
  • Evaluate systems with the goal of identifying and remediating existing security gaps in vendor solutions and platform technologies.
  • Be technically proficient with vendor and open source capabilities available to stay ahead of the threats
  • Partner closely with Windows / Linux / Mac Engineering teams to coordinate efforts, initiatives and roadmaps for Configuration Management using industry standard tools to meet Security requirements that align with our CIS guidelines
  • Responsible for refining policies, processes and procedures as it relates to the user experience with the software and configurations, and manage the same on endpoints
  • Lead transition plans for major upgrades or patches for Endpoint Security tools.
  • Work with the leadership to anticipate their objectives and needs to better serve the business function
  • Work as the critical path between various support teams for issues on the client platform
  • Drive client security models and standard methodologies in an enterprise environment
  • Work proficiently with minimal supervision and bring mature seasoned skills when working with production systems
  • Work closely with ITS to ensure technical security policy balances security best practices and corporate usability.
  • Collaborate using information and knowledge sharing networks and professional relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies around securing our endpoints that meets our end user current and future needs.
  • Responsible for managing, monitoring and providing key metrics for the Endpoint Security environment.
