Staffmark is hiring for an Optical Technician in Milwaukie OR for a vision/optical company. If you are looking for a new position, Staffmark would like to talk to you!
Machine Operating or Quality Control experience is preferred.
Sort through work prioritizing work as needed per lab policy.
Spot lenses and mark up lenses.
Block/pad press and verify axis of lenses.
Edge the lenses according to manufacturing specifications, making sure to edge the correct eye the machine says to edge.
Safety bevel, hand edging and tinting as needed.
Mount, secure and align finished lenses into frames.
Clean ophthalmic lenses and visually inspect for defects or flaws.
Invoice, package, and ship orders to customers
Cross train and help out in other areas of the lab.
You may be asked from time to time to perform additional duties by your supervisor.

Drug screen.
Must be able to read prescriptions.
Able and willing to work as a team.
Able to read and write English Language well.
Able to work without supervision.
Must be available to work overtime and Saturdays when needed.
Environmental: Laboratory and office environment
Physical: While performing the duties of pre-production, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
