Staff Accountant- Direct Hire

A trucking company in Murfreesboro is looking for a Staff Accountant to assist with the following:

• The Responsibilities:

• Drive the company-wide changeover from Quickbooks to Great Plains, training and assisting team members on the new software
• Ensure that financial data is entered in correctly, and that quarterly and annual financial statements, tax forms, and audits are within company guidelines and federal regulations
• Prepare general ledger entries to reconcile accounts and verify information when developing spreadsheet reports
• Collaborate with AP and payroll teams to ensure expenses, payments, and received amounts are recognized in balance sheets and cash flow reports
• Work with management in analyzing current procedures and strategize on continuous improvement initiatives

• The Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Bachelor’s in business with an emphasis in accounting or finance. MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years as an accountant in corporate accounting or finance
• Solid understanding of Great Plains software implementation
• Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to present financial reports to all levels within the company
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
