Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to drive sales of Optum solutions to new, prospective clients across provider market groups that purchase revenue cycle technologies

  • Identify and generate new business leads with assigned accounts through market analysis and profiling

  • Engage virtually through daily prospecting calls to clients and prospective clients to initiate new business relationships to sell solutions spanning Optum’s revenue cycle technology product portfolio

  • Invest in building relationships, qualifying pipeline opportunities, and driving the client experience through the initial phases of the sales cycle before a hand - off to a Solutions Sales Executive

  • Pursue or generate leads for new product or service opportunities to new or existing clients; may source directly, be brought into an opportunity by a Principal or Client Manager, or leverage campaigns

  • Optimize marketing campaigns and initiatives, driving both participation and follow up engagement from conferences and client meetings; timely follow - up of trade show, email, webinar, mailing, phone, web and other leads to generate more business.

  • Possess or develop subject matter expertise and knowledge on Optum revenue cycle technology offerings

  • Identify, cultivate and deepen client relationships with key influencers and stakeholders; be a trusted advisor to the client to demonstrate how Optum can provide value for the client to meet their objectives and improve the health system

  • Communicate and present effectively virtually at multiple audiences and levels (listening, written and verbal communication) with occasional in - person presentations at trade shows or client onsites

  • Frequently partner with other sales executives (Principals, Client Managers, Solutions Sales Executives) to drive pipeline and identify sales opportunities Ability to work independently as a strong team player with minimal supervision in a high paced, high intensity environment


Requirements:
  • HS Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of sales or client - facing experience
  • 2+ years of prospecting and supporting pipeline generation 
  • 6+ months of proficiency in using a CRM system
  • Ability to up to 25% to conferences / conventions on a quarterly basis
  • Ability to travel to attend training initially in the closest regional office (prior to role becoming telecommute)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the provider market or healthcare technologies
  • Demonstrated success in calling on and influencing senior leaders
  • Experience in diagnosing client needs and recommending solutions that have measurable and positive business impact 
  • Proficiency in Salesforce
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Sales, Business or related field
