The Pharmacy Care Technician is
responsible for handling all outbound calls to patients dealing with their
prescription and lab work results
Primary Responsibilities:
- Calling patients to assist with refills for home infusion medications
- Coordinate new patient orders
- Coordinate deliveries of IV medication
- Assist Pharmacist as needed to support the management of clinical work
- New prescription data entry
- Coordinate maintenance and Durable medical equipment for patient treatment plan
- Adhering to all state and federal pharmacy regulations, in scope of practice for pharmacy technician
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 3+ years in hospital setting, specialty pharmacy, and or home infusion settings
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, drug use and preparation of IV medication and IV aseptic technique
- Ability to work an 8 - hour shift between 8:30 am - 8:30 pm Monday through Friday and an on - all rotation once every 6 weeks
- Maryland Pharmacy Technician License
- 3+ years of experience as a licensed Pharmacy Technician in any state
- National Pharm Tech Certification
- Proficient in aseptic technique and intravenous solution compounding
- Knowledgeable with regards to the proper use and handling of hazardous medications (Compounds and handles hazardous medications in accordance with established guidelines and regulations (i.e. USP 797)
