Job Summary:
The Concrete Plant Operator/General Maintenance performs a combination of duties involving general plant maintenance and operation of mobile equipment.
Duties:
- Completes daily service requirements of the ready mix plant; helps inspects plant for preventative maintenance issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance problems to ensure efficient operations
- General maintenance of water pumps and electrical requirements and wear prevention of equipment
- Operate front end loaders and forklifts
- Performs general maintenance on conveyor belts, pumps and ready mix plant equipment

Education:
High school diploma or GED
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 2+ years maintenance experience with ready mix operations
- Experience operating loaders / forklifts preferred
- Must provide basic tools such as; ratchets 3/8-3/4 sockets, wrenches up to 2 inch, crescent wrenches, hammers, welding hood and gloves
- Experience in metal cutting and fabrication and ability to perform general maintenance on pumps and plant equipment are primary qualifications.
- Work with minimum supervision
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift and carry 50 pounds, climb stairs/ladders up to 24 feet.
- Able to use various electric and air powered hand, welding and cutting tools as appropriate.
UNION MEMBERSHIP: This classification is represented by the Operating Engineers, Local 612. Must be willing to join the Union within 30 days of employment.
Knowledge of Jonel batch systems
Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
