Utility Worker - Full-time / Part-time

A local steel company is looking for a Utility Worker to start at $14.00 per hour. The This position is a rotating shift with opportunity for overtime. After hire, there is an increase in pay.

A Utility Worker must have excellent manual dexterity and the ability to work with a variety of equipment. Successful utility workers learn new skills quickly, manage their time effectively, and spend a lot of time communicating with other staff members.

Job Duties:

• Operating a Fork Lift
• Operating a small Bob Cat
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining plant
• Responsible for cleaning other areas of a work site
• Comply with safety standards in steel plant
• Conduct an inspection to ensure project turned out correctly
• Locate parts and tools needed to complete task successfully
• Inspecting safety equipment and requested needed repairs from maintenance technician
• Building steel frames
• Lifting steel equipment, including ropes, drift-pins and wrenches
• Handling large equipment and working with steel

• Good balance
• Manual and physical dexterity
• Must be comfortable standing
• Proper eye and hand coordination

Job Requirements:

• Prior mill experience necessary
• Fork Lift experience preferred

Work Environment:

• Loud
• Dirty
• Hot/Cold depending on the outside weather
