The Lift Operator is responsible for creating a welcoming first and last impression. The wage will be $12.25/hour. The Lift Operator must courteously and effectively interact with guests while assisting them on and off the chair lifts, while following all Colorado State Tramboard and department safety procedures. He/She is responsible for keeping the load, unload and maze areas groomed. The Lift Operator work schedule is usually 4 days/week, 10 hours per day based on weather conditions and assignment. Ideal candidates will be team players, enjoy the outdoors and be effective communicators.  Lift Operators are required to shovel large amounts of snow frequently throughout the day, and be outside in extreme mountain weather conditions for extended periods of time. 

The Lift Operator must attend lift operations training class and pass a test. High levels of guest service expected with internal and external guests. The physical job requirements involve moving snow, assisting guests, and using ladders in an outdoor work environment in all winter weather conditions. A Lift Operator must work early and late hours as required.  He/She must work safely within the guidelines outlined in the operations manual and training.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Follow all State and departmental safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of lifts
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
  • Complete all necessary/required daily chair lift logs and forms
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent - Required
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English - Required
  • Able to lift up to 100 lbs - Required
  • Able to begin work at 6:30am - Required
  • Able to work outdoors for up to 10 hours in all winter weather conditions - Required
  • Must have the ability to communicate well with guests and management
  • Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and early mornings (6:30am) - Required
  • Able to pass a written exam, in English, after receiving training - Required
  • Must be a strong intermediate skier or snowboarder, or have the ability to learn - Required
  • Able to work through the entire winter season - Required
  • Previous guest service experience - Preferred
  • Experience working outdoors in a winter environment - Preferred
  • Knowledge of Beaver Creek and surrounding area - Preferred
  • Strong customer service skills - Preferred

 

Schedule: Must be able to work a four day work week throughout the entire season, through April 2019.  5th day overtime may be required. 

Hours are typically 6:30am - 4:30pm with some variation depending on lift assignment
