Curling Arena Server- Vail Marriott

The Vail Marriott Mountain Resort and Spa is now hiring a full time, Winter seasonal, Curling arena server and attendant.

Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing our brand new curling activity on our back patio.  You will be checking guests in, coaching them on the sport of curling as necessary and serving food and beverage in the area.  A great opportunity for an outgoing personality looking to be an integral part of our guest's experience at our resort.  Training includes a trip to Denver to the curling center to learn about the sport yourself and get a feel for the amazing experience we are offering.  This is absolutely one of the most unique and fun employment opportunities in the Vail Valley.

Essential Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serves our guests in accordance with Marriott standards as Food and Beverage quality and presentation in a friendly, gracious and professional manner.
  • Coach guests on the rules and scoring of curling to ensure a great experience.
  • Manage the reservations of the curling sheets through Open Table and checking in parties as they arrive.
  • Maintaining all curling area equipment including the sheets and stones.
  • Capable of working as a part of a cohesive team and maintaining a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures and minimize time required to check out.
  • Protect the rate and credit integrity of the hotel.
  • Be knowledgeable of how to use the MICROS system to input orders and prepare guest checks.
  • Follow correct procedures for taking guest orders, ringing all items ordered into MICROS.
  • Reports to work on time as scheduled in neat and complete uniform including name tag and basics card.
  • Maintains communications with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Complete daily checklists.
  • Attend Service Excellence within the first 60 days of employment.
  • TIPS certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and comprehend English. -required
  • 1 years Guest Service experience. -preferred
  • Experience in hospitality industry. -preferred
  • Serving experience. -highly preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. -required
  • Must be able to stand up to 8 hours at a time. -required
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, crawl, climb and kneel. -required
  • Must be able to become TIPS certified within 30 days of employment. -required
  • Must be willing to purchase and wear slip resistant shoes within the first week of work. -required
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends and evenings. -required
  • In-person interviews. -highly preferred
  • Schedule: 5 days per week. Shifts may vary.
