POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:

Cook

SUMMARY:
Maximize the guest experience by preparing all food requiring cooking in the restaurant. Other duties include washing pots, pans, utensils, bowls, etc. Responsible for maintaining a sanitary kitchen work station. May be assigned to work multiple stations throughout the shift.
JOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Cooks and prepares food following product preparation charts.
  • Preps all kitchen food products by the recipe manual and measures ingredients so that consistency flows throughout all products.
  • Inspects for food quality such as food temperatures.
  • Maintains the steam table stocked to meet the business needs.
  • Follows all food safety guidelines to prevent food borne illnesses.
  • Must be able to operate specific cooking equipment, cut food products, and/or prepare orders.
  • Must be able to read and follow written instructions. Prepares bulk quantities following recipe, menu and portioning guidelines..
  • Has knowledge and practices all safety procedures that are required.
  • Inspects, stocks/rotates product according to rotation requirements.
  • Works within all company policies, procedures and standards.

    SAFETY PRACTICES:

  • Ensures equipment is in good working condition.
  • Uses proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Maintains floors dry and free of debris.
  • Ensures heavy boxes are stored on the bottom shelves.

    PHYSICAL:

  • Occasional lifting of bags and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. There is heavy cleaning involved. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, reaching, bending, cutting.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Must be 18 years or older (OSHA requirements). Bilingual skills in English and Spanish is preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent desired. Minimum of 6 months experience in a food preparation position preferred.
