Job Description
Client in Visalia area seeking a swing CNC Operator/Machinist for fabricating quality parts on a CNC vertical mill machine. The CNC Operator/Machinist loads parts in the machine, cycles the machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations, conducts parts setups, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and will help maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating a CNC, have solid ability to read blueprints, and be attentive to fabricate parts accurately timely within production schedule.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Set up and operate CNC machinery properly and efficiently.
- Load parts, proving tapes, cycle machines, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, and inspection of quality parts for conformance to production requirements.
- Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
- Selects proper tools and ensures efficient machining production.
- Collaborate and receive instruction from CNC Programmer(s), experienced machine operators, and supervisors.
- Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
- Recommend and/or make mechanical adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.
- Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.
- Associate’s Degree/Certification in related field desired, but not required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC Machining.
- Able to select proper tooling and machining resources for accurate manufacturing of parts.
- Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes.
- Blueprint parts reading capabilities.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Able to work well under own initiative and in a team environment.
- Able to follow workplace protocol to ensure a healthy, safe, and organized environment.
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped spaces.
- Physical effort that may include the lifting of supplies and materials that weigh up to 40 pounds.
