PROCESS ENGINEER / CHEMICAL ENGINEER

Summary/Objective

The Process Engineer / Chemical Engineer performs work to support client’s strategic business initiatives through product composition, application design, development, post-mortem analysis and troubleshooting product performance. MUST HAVE A STRONG CHEMISTRY BACKGROUND.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the design, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting
    of all Grain Plant processes
  • Support EHS Coordinator in issues of the Plant
  • Recommend, specification and design of process equipment
  • Planning and execution, and documentation of engineering projects and trials
  • Work in tandem with Grain Plant Supervisor to implement process improvements
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales and Marketing in the support of customer product quality requirements
  • Identify, develop, and implement new process methods, raw materials, and equipment in support of new products, cost reduction, and quality improvement
  • Support internal and regulatory reporting requirements including, but not limited to, air, storm water, and surface water discharge
  • Primary contact for and ensure company legislative compliance obligations with OSHA, ODH, EPA, permits, etc.
  • Keep abreast of safety and environmental laws and regulation changes that can impact the company

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, in manufacturing operation, and lab areas. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, salary exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience
  • BS in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Three or more years in a chemical process manufacturing function
