QuadMed is currently seeking a full time Physician Assistant for our Health and Wellness Center in Stoughton, WI.

 

 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
This position will focus on providing Occupational and Primary Care Medicine. Under the collaboration of a physician, performs professional medical work in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients according to statutory limitations. Performs testing, refers to physicians as needed, writes prescriptions, and performs administrative procedures within their scope and licensure of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.   In addition, evaluating, treating, and educating patients’ work-related illnesses and injuries.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide occupational medical care to employees depending on the needs of the worksite environment.
  • Provide medical treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries, conduct injury causation analysis, and provide other occupational health related medical services as needed. 
  • Provide worker’s compensation intake and triage, pre-employment physicals and health assessments, medical surveillance exams and return-to-work physicals.  Follow all established Worker’s Compensation rules and guidelines of evidence-based care and best clinical practice.
  • Provide onsite primary care services and consultation to employees as needed.
  • Prescribe appropriate medical treatment and clinical medications for patients and orders studies, tests, and ancillary care services as appropriate.  
  • Refer to specialists outside the onsite Health and Wellness Center in a medically appropriate and efficient manner.
  • Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, wellness, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
  • Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within evidence based and best practice guidelines.
  • Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition, with documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Consult/collaborate with QuadMed Physician as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
  • Demonstrate effective collaborative partnership and communication style with both employer and employees.
  • Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the Health and Wellness Center requirements for QuadMed.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate with employer and patients through technology including email, video, telephone, and text in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use as well as the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent.
 JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.
 
Education:  The successful candidate will have completed a Master’s Degree level Physician Assistant program from an accredited college/university.
 
Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience in occupational health or a related field, the ability to work independently, and experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).  
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 
  • Currently Board-certified and licensed without restriction in the State of Wisconsin to practice as a Physician Assistant 
  • BLS-Certification  
  • DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis
