The DC Inventory Cycle Count Forklift Operator must be certified in powered lift equipment utilized in the DC and will be responsible for the safe and expedient operation of the equipment to move, locate, relocate, stock, and count merchandise while maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the facility.The Cycle Count Forklift Operator will be required to comply with the policies and procedures as defined in the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure). This position will support the Corporate Finance, Buying and Allocations departments in addition to DC Operations in Multiple DC facilities with over 100,000 reserve locations and 600 plus Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide.The Cycle Count Forklift Operator will work with the DC Inventory Cycle Count Supervisor and Inventory Control Manager to ensure the DC is counted and help address all potential location discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  1. Ability to drive Stand Up High Reach, Stand Up Medium Reach, Man Up Order Picker (operator is lifted up to 35’ in the air in an order picking basket where they must manually reach into a pallet rack location to obtain / count merchandise), Sit Down Clamp Truck, Standup Rider Double Pallet Jack and Motorized Hand Pallet Jack.
  2. Utilize both a tablet based computer interface and RF Hand Scanner based technology to interact directly with Warehouse Management System, receive and execute direction from the system.
  3. Perform inventory management functions necessary to ensure the accuracy of inventory in the building including: locate and move merchandise, log inventory issues in the warehouse management system, generate and perform cycle counts, verify the correct merchandise and locations through use of barcode scanning technology and check digits.
  4. Scan pallets and cartons using RF (Radio Frequency) technology both at floor level and 35’ in the air in the Man Up Order Picker.
  5. Responsible for completing cycle counts in a distribution center environment in compliance with SOX (Sarbanes – Oxley) controls and procedures.
  6. Opens cartons and bundles as needed to count items and/or weigh materials.
  7. Identify, research, resolve, reconcile and report inventory discrepancies, potential theft, non-conforming product (damage, missing label, etc) both physically and systemically, in a timely manner.
  8. Communicate to management any needed corrective action regarding inventory adjustments.
  9. Ensure safe operation of material handling equipment while maintaininga safe, clean working environment by performing housekeeping duties as required
  10. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  11. Maintain integrity of products through proper handling.
  12. Perform SKU integrity checks as directed by the supervisor and/or manager related to research requests from Finance, Buyers, Allocators, POC, IT and other members of Supply Chain.
  13. Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures and guidelines.
  14. May be required to assist DC Operations in the following areas based on volume and peak season requirements
  15. Receiving/Put Away - unload inbound shipments safely from inside of an over-the-road trailer or ocean container and move product to storage locations utilizing the most efficient equipment type. This includes a wide variety of products and recyclable materials. All movements must be done to prevent damage to the merchandise.
  16. Efficiently stock and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas as directed either by the supervisor of the area or the warehouse management system.
  17. Order Picking – pull and prepare product for shipping, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner.
  18. Loading – efficiently move product from staging and or storage areas and place on trailers for outbound transportation. This includes a wide variety of product and recyclables materials. All movements must be done in such a way as to prevent damage to the product.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing / bending / lifting throughout the work day.
  • Frequent exposure to dust, high levels of noise and moving machinery.
