Our client is seeking aSenior Highway Engineerto assist in planning, designing, organizing, executing and recommending roadway design solutions. Assignments may include a diverse variety of transportation-related projects such as new location, widening, bicycle & pedestrian, highway safety, intersection, interchange and design-build projects across all phases of a project life from functional to final design on a wide range of projects related to transportation, energy, industrial/commercial and government sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering design services for transportation improvement projects

  • Design and produce construction details, plans, specifications and estimates including detailed engineering calculations

  • Collaborate with clients, subconsultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements

  • Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers with roadway design task production and maintaining project documentation

  • Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data; perform routine calculations, and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

  • 10 or more years of transportation roadway design experience

  • Familiarity with MicroStation, Geopak and In-Roads

  • Familiarity with NCDOT Workspaces

  • Strong oral/written communication skills and ability to work in teams

  • Strong computer skills including Word, advanced use of Excel, AutoCAD, etc.
