Maintenance Tech - Mt. Brighton, MI - FT Year-Round

The Building Mechanic maintains proper operating function of the resort facilities and performs minor equipment repairs.  Primary responsibility involves carpentry skills with secondary responsibilities to include performing basic building maintenance.  This position includes full-time year round benefits including free ski pass and free golf.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform daily rounds-check furnaces, common areas, air conditioning units, water softener system, fire panels.  Primary responsibility will be to complete work orders, attend to guest issues, and complete roles and responsibilities assigned by the Sr. Mountain Manager.
• Maintain all Facilities and Operating Systems in a safe and efficient working order (ie. Auto doors, exit doorways, required snow/ garbage removal).  Will require lifting of 20 Lbs or more.
• Complete assigned tasks in a safe, timely manner. 
• Work with outside contractors to provide necessary improvements or maintenance as directed.
• Carry ladder up and down stairs with required tools (may exceed 20 lbs).  May require lifting arms above head and shoulders to work in ceiling (i.e. small leaks, electrical shorts, replace motors).
• Maintain records of all work activities and support materials
• Provide written reports to other departments as needed.
• Provide for safe disposal of all waste material.
• Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles and keep work area in safe, secure and efficient manner.
• Work with other departments when directed.
• Keep track of supplies and fill out requisition for needed supplies.
• Assist with preventative maintenance in common areas
• Other duties as they are assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have two years’ experience in maintaining facilities.
• Must have the ability to diagnose mechanical problems.
• Must have valid Driver’s License.
• Must be over 18 years of age; High School or Equivalent Education.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must work well in a team.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather environment.
• Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to follow directions
• Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently.
