Bakery Operations Manager
Reporting to: Executive Chef
Responsible for: Efficient management of BOH operations for all production locations
Salary: $50,000 base annual salary plus performance-based bonuses
Benefits: Travel Stipend
Expected Hours: 40-50 hours/week
3:00AM-1:00PM
5 days/week, possibility for 6 days/week in busy seasons
Required Experience: 2+ years of experience in Bakery/Pastry Production Management
Main duties and responsibilities
Performs all manner of tasks relating to the management of operations including:
Ensuring timely, organized, efficient, professional, consistent, and fully-documented coordination of daily production.
Calculating and communicating daily production numbers to Bakery Team Members, including Production Team Members, Dough Team Members, and Preparation Team Members.
Visits each kitchen location during each shift to monitor staff performance and production results.
Coordinates with Executive Chef, Bakery Managers, and Bakery Team Members to discern and enact solutions for process problems.
Assists Executive Chef with development of hourly employee training process and production standardization.
Coordinates with Executive Chef about efficiency of operations and staff management.
Oversees all application review, interviewing, and hiring across all locations.
Manages onboarding documentation and works in conjunction with HR to ensure all new hires are authorized for employment and have completed all required paperwork.
Coordinates with Bakery Manager to ensure proper staffing and scheduling.
Coordinates the delegation of training of new hires.
Coordinates with Bakery Managers to complete appraisals for all Bakery staff.
Key Working Relationships
Operation managers will work in cooperation with the head chef and bakery managers to ensure proper staffing, scheduling, training, and operations. They also cooperate with Human Resources for hiring and onboarding requirements and communicate with leadership to determine best practices across all locations.
Hours of Shift
3:00AM-1:00PM, 5 days a week, with the possibility of 6 days a week in busy seasons
Basic requirements
Availability for full-time
Prompt arrival and immediate preparedness for responsibilities
Kitchen-appropriate attire and footwear
2+ years of experience in Bakery/Pastry Production Management
