Scope

• The Part Time Freight Processing Team Member will assist with truck unloading by pushing/pulling merchandise with appropriate equipment (carts, bins, rollers, etc.) to and from store receiving area and sales floor; will enter the truck (physically inside the truck) and remove boxes off the truck onto rollers or conveyor belts in a safe and efficient manner; will individually lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, and group lift 50+ lbs – 97 lbs. (Lifting 2 lbs on a constant basis, 10 lbs on a frequent basis); will lift, place and arrange items on shelves and racks; bend down and reach above head; pull boxes down from overhead; repetitive movement; climb and descend ladder; will wear appropriate clothing and shoes to ensure safe unloading practices are followed (tennis shoes, no jewelry such as long necklaces or dangle earrings); responsible to unload anywhere between 100 and 1,000 cartons per truckload based on store volume.
• The Part Time Freight Processing Team Member will provide friendly customer service through professional communication during in-person and telephone interactions; will engage in “heads up” approach to customer service using F.A.S.T. service model; will respond with a sense of urgency to all customer assistance requests; will ask customers open-ended questions to learn about their projects and product needs to then escort customer to product locations.
• The Part Time Freight Processing Team Member will process customer transactions in an efficient and friendly manner while using proper cash handling procedures at the register; when not operating the cash register, will perform various additional functions including, but not limited to: dusting and/or sweeping register areas; vacuuming the carpets; returning merchandise to its location in the store; obtaining carts and baskets from the parking lot and returning them to the appropriate storage location; moving heavy merchandise to customers’ vehicles; re-stocking register supplies; straightening the queue line and re-stocking queue merchandise; answering the telephone.
• At the cutting counter, the Part Time Freight Processing Team Member will help customers compute fabric measurements and answer questions; operate the handheld units and use the Take-a-Ticket customer system; will obtain materials from customers to be measured and cut (e.g., bolts, 54” home dec fabric, trim, ribbon, special order items); will measure and cut fabric in accordance with customer requirements.

Education Requirements

• Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

• Minimum: Previous customer service and basic knowledge of POS Systems and Window based computer applications.
