Position Summary:

Accountable for annual digital and addressable media investment, and campaign execution of performance-based media campaigns for Kroger Precision Marketing (KPM). Develop and implement customer-led digital and addressable media buying strategy and roadmap for Kroger, and direct team to strategically buy media that delivers significant return on investment and return on ad spend (ROI/ROAS) back to the organization, while leveraging customer data wherever possible to effectively reach customers with relevant messages. Essential Job Functions:
  • Develop and own digital and addressable media strategy for Kroger across display, video, native, social, and addressable media channels
  • Provide strategic direction based on historical data results and organizational goals, and ensure media activities are executed on time, on budget, and drive improved ROI/ROAS
  • Build and lead an empowered team of high-performing, results-oriented associates, and holding them accountable to innovate in meaningful ways to streamline/automate work, test/learn/measure media innovations, and reduce high-touch labor tasks
  • Establish positive strategic relationships with technology partners and leading publishers to stretch Kroger’s media spend, drive innovation and best practices, and improve inventory availability
  • Accountable for demand-side platform (DSP) RFP process, team training, and developing partnership plan to maximize relationship in innovative ways
  • Responsible for data management platform (DMP) implementation and ongoing activations
  • Accountable for all assigned projects to ensure they are on track and gaining organizational support, and identify and solve for roadblocks/gaps
  • Inform stakeholders of industry trends and innovations, developing industry point of views (POVs), and presenting to various stakeholders within the organization, including executive leadership
  • Report progress routinely to supervisor. Prepare and distribute routine progress reports to department leadership
  • Safeguard data, adhering to privacy policies, security and data governance best practices
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide direct feedback to direct reports

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Advertising
  • 5+ years’ experience with digital or addressable media, or similar experience
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, people, diplomacy, and time management skills are required
  • Innovative, detail oriented, strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership skills, and ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative environment.
Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:
  • Master’s degree
  • 7+ years’ experience with digital and addressable media
  • 2+ years’ experience managing a team
  • Experience with first-party targeting, data management platforms (DMP), and demand-side platforms (DSP)
  • Experience developing requests for proposals, negotiating terms & reviewing contracts
  • Consumer package goods (CPG) or retail experience
