About this job
Uses a variety of spray paint equipment in support of production painting and processing department, prepares materials, paints, and maintains worksite and equipment in good working order.
Set up automatic or manual spray coat equipment and related accessories. Select spray angle, distance and nozzle following established paint shop practice and procedures. Operate agitation equipment or paint mixer to stir or mix surfacing materials when necessary.
Apply surface coatings to completed parts using automatic spray equipment or hand held spray gun following established paint shop practices. May direct work operations of spray coat worker on automatic equipment in loading and unloading parts, visually checking parts, and in cleaning excess coating from parts and paint fixtures.
Select settings and operate ovens to cure spray coating where time and temperature are established for part configuration.
Assist senior spray coat painter to set up any spray coat equipment and to spray coat any standard production parts.
