About this job
The Mechanical Technician will be handling a variety of welding, mechanical assembly and fabrication tasks required in the conversions of 2x4 to 4x4 large vans.
The Mechanical technician will have the parts provided by an inventory associate to provide the products needed for each job. They will disassemble the 2x4 unit from the van, re-assemble and fabricate/weld the 4x4 drive train onto the van and prepare it to be road worthy.
Technicians will handle MIG welding, primarily overhead, fabricate with grinders and plasma cutters, as well as utilize hand and power tools to perform assembly and disassembly.
There will be lifting involved up to 50lbs.
MUST HAVES
6 months to 2+ years of Basic Welding (ideally MIG, but open to others) They will train on the specific MIG welding they require.
2+ years of mechanical trade (assembly, auto mechanics, even at home mechanical skills will suffice)
Fabrication knowledge (good with measurements and utilizing basic torch cutters and grinders to fabricate parts)
PLUS
2 year degree in mechanics/welding
Blueprint experience
These positions are currently 1st shift and are running mandatory overtime.
Mon-Thur 6am to 4:30pm and Fri 6am to 2:30pm currently. They are looking to reduce OT to 44 total scheduled hours if possible, but no guarantees.
