Financial Control Manager,

TJX Digital Gross Margin & Inventory Finance

Our Gross Margin & Inventory Finance group has an immediate need for a Financial Control Manager. This position will have regular interaction with Executive Level management and opportunities to drive business decisions and is expected to make a meaningful impact on TJX’s e-commerce businesses.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Managing the processes and activities of the Digital Financial Control group to ensure effective, efficient and accurate reporting and analytics
  • Overseeing and directing workloads to ensure deadlines are met
  • Managing and coaching associates on training and professional development
  • Driving the development of analytical models to forecast and understand short and long term trends in Inventory Flow and Margin Components
  • Playing a leadership role on projects & new initiatives
  • Overseeing and driving analysis of Gross Margin Components to provide relevant Executive Level guidance on business performance and areas of risk and opportunity
  • Partnering with other areas of Digital Finance on the reporting and analysis of all Gross Margin Components and Inventory Positions and impacts on holistic P&L
  • Building relationships with operational partners across the business, notably, Merchandise, Operations, and Store Operations, to streamline and better forecast production levels and flow across the supply chain
  • Delivering strategy and recommendations on various initiatives across all levels of Management
  • Working on various ad-hoc analysis to drive profitability, increase supply chain efficiency and merchandise flow
  • Overseeing / Performing standard Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly reporting with excellent attention to detail
Potential Projects (representative examples):
  • Supply Chain Lead Time Studies
  • Freight Consolidation Cost Savings Analysis
  • Shrink by Department Analysis
  • Merchandise Department Profitability Analysis
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience working in an analysis and/or finance environment
  • Prior experience managing small teams in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to obtain and analyze information and draw business solutions
  • Able to concisely and effectively deliver insights, recommendations, and results to Executive Level management
  • Knowledge of cost method of accounting, knowledge of retail method a plus
  • Strong sense of urgency around delivery of reports and deadlines
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and reporting on large amounts of data
  • High level of curiosity to explore, learn and understand business information and excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient PC skills: Microsoft Office Excel (pivot tables, function logic, and lookup/reference formulas and charts); Access or other data applications a plus
