Job Overview:



The Digital Image Specialist requires considerable proficiency in multitasking and team collaboration. Working in a dynamic studio environment with Photographers, Art Directors, Project Management and Off-shore teams, among others—this position provides a key link in the movement of images through the image production workflow at Macy’s Marketing. Perform other duties as assigned.



Essential Functions:



• Coordination of high-volume online & print images via various transfer methods while utilizing various management systems.

• Driver of outsourcing assets to off-shore team.

• Monitoring production due dates to meet deadlines.

• Timely delivery of images, working with internal partners, vendors, retouchers, & off-shore partner; can include some work with freelance/staff photographers & art directors.

• Confirm complete information has been provided to meet benchmarks by partnering with internal & external (outsourcing) teams.

• Troubleshooting image production issues within team guidelines.

• Upholding best practices while enforcing that retouching & image protocols are adhered to.

• Quality Control of outsourced images from our off-shore partner.

• Reviewing vendor-provided images against quality standards and determining viability for use online. Formatting compliant images to our dimensions.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand and troubleshoot issues related to product images.

• Expert on the operation of multiple asset management systems, in order to provide feedback on systems/technology issues.

• Knowledgeable of interdepartmental team workflow processes.

• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.



Qualifications:



Education/Experience:



• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

• 2+ years image/asset management & ecommerce experience, having retail experience is a plus.



Communication Skills:



• Excellent oral and written communication skills.



Mathematical Skills:




• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.



Reasoning Ability:



• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.



Physical Demands:



• This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.

• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

• May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.

• Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

• May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.



Other skills:



• Apple/Mac OSX.

• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Indesign is a must).

• Capture One.

• MS Office 365 (Must be knowledgeable in Excel).

• Enthusiasm for the creative and technical processes. Must be open to learning new workflows. and systems on an on-going basis, and therefore must be trainable.

• Outstanding attitude and ability to respond effectively and appropriately to feedback.

• Excellent time-management, multitasking skills and an eye for detail required.

• Proactive self-starter with an upbeat, positive attitude able to diplomatically enforce deadlines.

• Maintain professional demeanor despite unscheduled work, revisions and short timetables.

• Detail oriented, self-sufficient & well organized, who is able to thrive deadline driven, fast-paced and fast turnaround environment.
