Shift Supervisor

$21.60

General Job Description:

Responsible for the supervision of their shift on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis seven (7) days per week. They must be capable of building team work, cooperation and consistency between shifts and other Allied Universal Shift Supervisors. The Shift Supervisor must be fully trained and thoroughly knowledgeable of all security policies, flow charts, operating logs, procedures, practices and site interior/exterior layout. The Shift Supervisor works under the direct supervision of the Allied Universal Security Account Manager, while working closely with the client’s Security Management. The candidate must meet the requirements and successfully pass the Allied Universal Security Specialist, Allied Universal GSOC and Shift Supervisors field training programs.

General Responsibilities:

?Receives and executes directions of the Allied Universal Security Account Manager with close coordination of the client’s Security Management.
?Direct supervision of shift, post checks, specials, receptionists and lead personnel.
?Reviews and checks for completeness all Daily Activity Reports.
?Monitors Specialist regarding rounds for their shift.
?Ensures cross training and opportunity/scenario training in coordination with the Allied Universal Security Account Manager.
?Mentors, counsels and ensures a superior Security Specialist force.
?A complete understanding of site emergency procedures.
?Understands the procedures for client’s Security Operations Center (GSOC).
?Conducts Daily Briefings and/or pass-on information to shift specialists as necessary.
?Ensures professional conduct and radio decorum is maintained by all personnel.
?Ensures all post is filled for the next on coming shift.
?Ensures all specialists on shift have clean, up to date uniforms.
?Ensures all specialists receive proper equipment and scheduling at the beginning of each shift.
?Ensure all security audits are assigned and completed. IE… Fire Riser, Code Blue, Elevator, Etc.
?In-depth knowledge of site fire systems, take FACP on and offline, disable points, trouble shoot problems and effectively communicate issues with Allied Universal Security Account Manager.
?Ensure all specialists conduct mandatory training in a timely manner
?Responsible to direct response for all incidents that occur on the shift. (Alarms, problems, safety hazards, etc.)
?Recommends policy, training, rewrites for procedures/processes.
?Ensures Human Resource compliance regarding disciplinary actions on personnel assigned to their shift.

?Communicate and interface effectively with a professional tone to all client associates, contractors, vendors, and Allied Universal personnel.
?Provides effective leadership to ensure a well-coordinated and consistent service from the security staff.
?Provide the necessary information to the Allied Universal Security Account Manager on supplemental training for all personnel assigned to his or her shift.
?Review Specialist’s incident reports for accuracy and thoroughness, and ensure incidents are investigated in the fullest extent possible.
?Handles customer complaints.
?Maintain a professional attitude, appearance, and image at all times.
?Supervise and direct special details and assignments as required.
?Other duties assigned or prescribed in procedures manual.
Qualifications:

?Five years of supervisory or leadership experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
?Strong background in an environment that utilizes exceptional interpersonal skills. IE... Military, Law Enforcement, Security.
?Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
?Type a minimum of 35 wpm with an 80% accuracy rate.
?Excellent spoken and written English skills.
?Exceptional customer service.
?Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and fellow Allied Universal Security Specialists.
?Demonstrated success in effective team leading.
?This individual must be self-motivated and capable of anticipating requirements.
?No performance disciplinary actions with Allied Universal Security Services within the last 12 months.

Allied Universal Services is currently searching for a Professional Security Shift Supervisor.

The Shift Security Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services on a specific shift at an assigned customer. Act as a liaison between site supervisor, Account Manager/Field Operations Manager and professional security officers. Supervise staff on assigned shift, providing coaching, recognition and discipline within approved empowerment range.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Communicates staffing needs on shift to Account Manager or Operations Manager
  • Assures that officers receive appropriate training, developing them in both technical and professional skills; also may include assisting manager in performance management (coaching, counseling, disciplining, performance evaluations, recognition, etc.)
  • Assures that employee grievances are heard with help from appropriate district or region HR support employees and Account or Operations Manager
  • Administers JSA’s and safety programs outlining site-specific hazards for professional security officers on assigned shift including vehicle / driving safety as appropriate to Corporate procedures
  • Enforces Allied Universal’s policies as outlined in the handbooks and executive memos
  • Assists with the communication of policies, company announcements and job openings
  • Provides the basis of a great place to work by treating staff with respect


Enforcement of Contract Standards
  • Helps Account or Operations Manager identify, meet and exceed the needs of the customer
  • Meets all contractual scheduled hours with a minimum of unbilled overtime
  • Assists in the coordination and/or conduct site-specific OJT, client specific training and annual refresher training for security personnel
  • Reconciles security logs against shift responsibilities and patrols; review incident reports prior to submitting to manager and coordinate preliminary investigations
  • Assists Account or Operations Manager manage uniforms, equipment, supplies and vehicles utilized at the account, maintaining appropriate inventories and maintenance checklists


Physical and Mental Functions:
  • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet)
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
  • Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Run as needed
  • Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks
  • Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination
  • Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat;
  • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments


Qualifications/Requirements:

Qualified applicants for the Shift Supervisor position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
  • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills
  • Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Guard License as required in the state for which you are applying
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test, may be required to pass Drivers Record check
