The basic function of a Store Manager is to develop and maintain a successful store by ensuring that excellent customer service is delivered at all times.

 

The job description outlined below explains the general responsibilities and expectations associated with the Store Manager position.

 

  • ‘Owns’ the customer in the store. Makes sure that excellent customer service is delivered at all times.
  • Possesses profit and loss responsibility for the store’s loan, check cashing and services results.
  • Oversees all aspects of the store’s retail functions
  • Ensures implementation of retail policies & objectives, such as:
    • Ensuring customers are retained, satisfied, and that their needs are fulfilled.
    • Implementing the annual plan to fulfill the growth and revenue goals of the store.
    • Ensuring goals are met.
    • Supervising all aspects of the store sales policies, objectives, and initiatives.
    • Implementing sales promotion policies and programs to maximize the profit of the store. However, managers are not responsible for creating sales and marketing activities.
  • Responsible for implementing improved customer service processes and operational policies in the store
  • Oversees business / consumer activity for the store, including sales and customer service
  • Responsible for operational performance of store
  • The Store Manager works directly with human resources to ensure that the store’s personnel goals and budget levels are met and that all team members achieve their professional development goals. o Forecast personnel needs for the store
    • Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, and retention activities for team members
    • Ensure adequate training / development for retail team members in the store including new hire training, on-the-job training, and on-going development according to established company standards
    • Measure performance of all retail team members and reward performance appropriately
  • Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the store, personnel, and customer in the store
  • Recommend changes to products or services to fulfill customer needs
  • Fulfills corporate mission of community service in the store market area
