McAlister's Deli & Catering has an opening for an experienced AGM/GM at our Fairfax location. We currently have locations in Fairfax, Front Royal & Herndon. We offer a competitive base pay, monthly bonus, BCBS medical, dental and vision insurance and paid time off. We have talked to recruiters and they want $5,000 per manager, sometimes more. Why should they get all of our money due to all of your hard work and dedication? Instead we want to pay a $2,500 bonus TO YOU on your one-year anniversary!

We believe in the balance of work and personal time and strive to rotate the schedule so everyone has some prime time off each month. Our managers work a 5-day work schedule that averages 45-50 hours per week. It will include some days, nights and weekends. An open availability to required. 

General Job Requirements:

  • Must read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
  • Must meet the company performance standards and expectations for the job.
  • Must participate in all company training and orientations.
  • Must be able to work the schedule/assigned times and required overtime for the position.
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job. Including POS, iPad and back of house computers that require the ability to use most standard Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to lead and direct the team in an effective and professional manner.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with all personality types from management to team members
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Must have the physical ability and stamina to perform all necessary job functions required of a member of management.
  • Due to required business travel (bank deposits, catering & visiting our other locations), valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable, daily transportation is required.
  • Must have ServSafe Manager’s License. If not current then must be able to take the class and pass the exam.

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Ensure excellent guest service is provided
  • Direct and lead hourly team members
  • Resolve any customer issues or complaints
  • Handle all front-of-house and back-of-house issues
  • Control labor and food costs with basic knowledge
  • Willingness to utilize authority with other team members if situation warrants necessary
  • Must be able to complete all other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Our restaurants are open seven days a week.  Due to the nature of our business, there are never any “set" schedules and schedules vary and hours may change each week. Hours can increase depending on the following conditions: staffing levels, opportunity, new openings, and the management team's performance. Our concept is customer driven and centered, with all managements spending a great deal of time in the dining room during rushes, and being working-managers during slower times.  We are a very hands-on company who tries to lead by example. Our management team supervises, mentors, and works directly with our valued staff members on a daily basis in order to coach, grow, and develop our people and our restaurant.  

*Work schedule set weekly at supervisor discretion and includes weekends and nights.
