POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Security Architect at Shopko designs, delivers, installs, maintains and supports IT security systems and architectures. Leads Information Services activities related to all audits, internal and external, including but not limited to HIPAA, SOX and PCI. Coordinates with other area of the business for their involvement in said audits. Adheres to and champion all aspects of the Shopko Information Services Development Methodology (SISDM) for projects and problem/change management. Mentor other teammates.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Resolves Security Issues
• Extensive knowledge of RSA Log Monitor appliance, Qualys scanning appliance, and Cisco firewall configurations..
• Proactively identify root cause where appropriate and lead efforts to eliminate root cause or mitigate business impact.
• Conducts and directs analysis of complex problems and issues concerning system security
• Serves as a subject matter expert on information security.
Leads Information Services activities related to security components for both internal and external audits
• Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
• Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
• Payment Card Industry (PCI)
Designs and delivers security architecture components
• Leads the effort to evaluate security products and offerings for potential use of such in our environment
• Develops diverse and complex project plans: outlines steps and time tables for projects, resource planning, and standard operating procedures.
• Completes project status reports on time.
• Provides task level detail for project plans.
• Installs, configures, validates, tests and implements security components.
• Prepares budgetary recommendations as needed
Communications and Administration
• Leads the effort to periodically review and update security policies, standards, and procedures
• Creates and maintains detailed security configuration templates and checklists
• Completes periodic reporting of tasks, progress, plans and issues.
• Maintains effective on-going dialog with management to communicate issues and plans promptly.
• Prepares and maintains diagrams, various reports and service requests.
• Maintains technical expertise.
• Mentors and trains teammates to improve teams’ skills and abilities.
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
• Seven years progressive work experience in information security and technical fields
• CISSP Certification
• Extensive knowledge of RSA Log Monitor appliance, Qualys scanning appliance, and Cisco firewall configurations
• Broad security and information systems background with depth in at least two technical disciplines
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence clients, team members, management and external groups
• Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to troubleshoot highly complex systems in a crisis environment, identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution options
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in pressure situations
• In depth understanding of UNIX-based and Windows operating systems
• Applied knowledge of firewall and security technology and equipment: DMZ’s, rules definition, ACL’s, SSL, VPN’s, IPSec, HTTPS, SFTP, proxy, web content filtering, intrusion detection, Radius, 802.1Q, strong authentication, etc.
• Project management experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation
• Ability to work outside of “regular” office hours (weekends and evenings) to meet established deadlines and support on-call coverage.
